A Course in Close Reading and Community
We are going to need to be creative to grow personally, continue learning together, and develop more community during this crisis. This is a course and conversation studying the Bhagavad Gita in a close reading and evolving conversation.
It’s a good time for study, for introspection and conversation in community. Let’s do something together that is meaningful, practical, trenchant, and worth your effort and time. We’re going to focus on a seminal text of the Indian tradition and one that speaks to everyone, especially in difficult times: the Bhagavad Gita. We will structure the class much the way we would any Rajanaka seminar or Camp—come on in, open the text with me, and I’ll come prepared and eager to help us learn together. We will have time for Q&A and community conversation. It would be helpful if you choose to take the class to use my new translation, available only on Amazon (link below), but you can use any version you like. Classes are bi-weekly, an hour and fifteen minutes each, if you miss class or want to archive there will be a recording too. You can come prepared or you can drop in and read along with us, however you please. A few more instructions below. Join us! This will make all the difference.
*We will meet on line ON ZOOM, TWICE a week for FIFTEEN WEEKS, BEGINNING SUNDAY, MARCH 22ND 2020.
*Classes MEET on WEDNESDAYS AND SUNDAYS AT 5PM EASTERN TIME.
*You can take the course ONE class at a time. Cost: $20 per class. Or the full 30 classes for $500. Payment by PayPal only. Further instruction in the registration link at www.rajanaka.com.
